FRACTAL INVASION
Fractals are everywhere. They are present in the field of the arts, in technology, medicine, … They are in nature. There are in the trees, rivers, galaxies, animals, … But we didn’t know it until Benoit Mandelbrot, a very creative mathematician, studied them and named them in the XXth century.
KNOW FRACTALS INVADE THE FRAMINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL
Fractal Invasion is a project developed by the ESL Math classes at Framingham High School in Framingham, Massachusetts. It was created cooperatively by the ESL Integrated Math class in period E, the Slife Math class in period B and the Spanish Math class in period F.
We saw some videos about fractals to learn more about these geometric Images. These are some of the videos that we saw:
One properties of the fractals is the Self-Similarity. A self-similar object is exactly or approximately similar to a part of itself.

Using this property we made a huge cooperative Fractal attaching smaller fractals. We made 36 inch tall Triangle of Sierpinski fractal.
The following images show how to build a bigger and bigger Triangle of Sierpinski adding more and more fractals.

And bellow some pictures of our Cooperative Triangle of Sierpinski and how we build it.

Finally we designed this website to publicize our project and to spread the interesting and practicality of mathematics in the interpretation of the world we live in.
